Bioblitz
Organised by Climate Action Gamlingay
Meet at the Eco Hub for a series of guided walks to identify wildlife in the immediate area, or come along and help map the wildlife in your garden or your area of the village.
Guided walks will be running from the Hub at 10.30am, 2pm and 6pm, or grab / download a recording sheet and walk in your own time.
The Co Op community team will also be at the Hub with free refreshments and banana craft activities, and are offering extra goodies to anyone with a Co-op membership.
A Bioblitz is an important way to capture a picture of the state of nature in our locality whether it be birds, insects, animals, plants or fungi. By collecting observations about the type of species and their location we can create a baseline of data. We can then use these numbers to analyse which areas of the village are providing good habitat and therefore need protection or further improvement.
